Nam Nguyen is a contestant on the 40th season of America’s longest-running quiz game show, Jeopardy! Professionally, he is a playwright from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
As one of the first contestants of the week, Nam will make his game show debut on 22 April 2024. Sharing his enthusiasm for appearing on Jeopardy!, Nam wrote on his Instagram,
Last month, they threw eleven Americans and me in a cage to fight to the death while Ken Jennings watched. I am dead.
Nah jokes, I just went to compete on @jeopardy and you can see how I did on April 22nd. (No excuses for theatre people – it’s a Monday!)

Nguyen’s Monday competitors will be the returning champion, Marko Saric, and a blog & podcast editor from Dankbury, Connecticut, Elly Trickett.
Marko, a math professor from Chapel Hill, North Carolina is the show’s current two-day champion. He managed his second straight win at the end of the last week to push his winning total to $26,600.
Nam will now look to end Marko’s winning run on Jeopardy! when he looks to test his trivia skills on Monday.

Nam was born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. While his age and date of birth remain unknown, Nam seems to be running in his 30s.
A Canadian by nationality, Nguyen comes with Asian roots. He is of Vietnamese descent from his parents’ side.

Following his presentation of A Perfect Bowl of Pho, Nguyen was named one of NOW Magazine’s Breakthrough Stage Artists of 2019. His play ran well in theatres all across the TTC streetcar network.
Nam’s other creation was titled CAEZUS where he contributed as a lyricist. The musical ran at the 2023 Toronto Fringe Festival and received a 4-star review from Glenn Sumi.
Additionally, Nam worked on another play titled Red Tide. The play is about a fisherman in Central Vietnam.
