Sandee Baker is a new contestant in the 40th season of Jeopardy! She will make her popular trivia show debut on Thursday, 30 May 2024.
Baker had to go through 17 months of hustle before she booked her place on Jeopardy! She took two online tests, a mock game, and an interview over Zoom.
Finally, Sandee got a call from the showrunners and was invited to Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California to film an episode. Baker shared her excitement of appearing on Jeopardy! on her Facebook, writing,
Still can’t believe this actually happened! They told us that approximately 400,000 people take the on-line test each year. About 3-4 thousand get an invitation to take a second test and Zoom audition. Three or four hundred get into the contestant pool. I was very surprised to get that call! It came with pages and pages of paperwork to fill out. I had to commit to NOT doing a lot of things, and agree to others. My favorite was to allow Jeopardy to use my image “in perpetuity throughout the universe.” Howdy, aliens!
