Voigt was the first to announce her resignation at the beginning of the week on 6 May 2024. The 24-year-old claimed that the toxic environment around the organization was affecting her mental health as she became the first title holder in the pageant’s 72-year history to voluntarily step down.
Later on Wednesday, 8 May 2024, Miss Teen Srivastava also quit saying in a statement that her personal values no longer fully aligned with the direction of the organization.
Two days before Voigt’s resignation, the organization’s social media director, Claudia Michelle also announced that she was stepping down from her position.
While Michelle claimed faulty management and a low pay scale for her resignation, Laylah responded to her allegations by writing,
