Kathy Olson is a new contestant in the 40th season of America’s most popular quiz game show, Jeopardy! She will make her game show debut on 15 May 2024.
Olson always had a lifelong dream of appearing on Jeopardy! She has been a diehard fan of the show and started watching it on television in the 1970s.

With the hopes of making it to the hot seat, Kathy auditioned for Jeopardy! at least five times over the last 30 years. Although she passed the initial tests and made it to auditions in her previous attempts, she was never chosen as a contestant.
Olson then tried again for Jeopardy! in 2022 when she took an online test over Zoom. She was then invited to the mock game and received a text message from the showrunners in March 2024.
Kathy then taped her episode in April 2024. Sharing her experience, Olson said,
I was definitely nervous but I tried to relax and just have fun. I made some mistakes due to nerves, I think, but overall it was a great experience. Everyone was so supportive.
Now, her episode will air on Wednesday, 15 May 2024.
