After four years, he was named Chief White House Correspondent, covering both Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. He was named anchor of ABC’s Weekend Report in 1979 and joined ABC’s primetime news magazine, 20/20.
Jarriel spent more than two decades at 20/20 and earned numerous accolades, including six Emmy awards. He took his retirement in 2002.
